Young Adult Ministry

Brief Introduction of Group

The Young Adult Ministry group (or YAM), is place where young adults from HVMCC and beyond, can come and continue to grow in their faith. After high school, our life goes from a structured path laid before us to something that is changing and moving… its direction now entirely in our hands. It is in these years, where we can so easily be lost in college coursework or the 9 to 5 grind, that we need opportunities for prayer, and learning and fellowship, more than ever! And that is what YAM is for. It’s a safe place for anyone, regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, to know Christ more— through a bible passage or a song or through laughing over food with brothers and sisters in Christ.

Principle of the Group

“Come as you are
There’s hope for the hopeless
And all those who’ve strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There’s rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That Heaven can’t cure”

(Come As You Are – Crowder)

Objective
At each session we aim to grow in fellowship and to learn something that will help us to continue to carry our faith with us into our daily lives outside of YAM.

Leader Name
YAM is coordinated by Christine Le and Adam Sieja, however, participants are always welcome to lead sessions if they desire to or feel called to!

Requirement to Join
YAM is open to young adults aged 18-35.

Activities
Each YAM session is scheduled for 3 hours. The first hour we share a meal together – a chance to know each other more. In the second half of the session we focus our sights on different topics or we have discussions/debates. We also sometimes spend this time together worshiping through song or in prayer.
